Dr David Smith received his chiropractic education from New Zealand College of Chiropractic. He first worked in Napier with Dr Laurence Gilmore at First Chiropractic, which was the clinic that showed Dr David such success when he was injured and needed help.

This experience allowed him to see all ages of patients, from newborns to those in their 90s. While being mentored by knowledgeable professionals, he also cared for prenatal and postnatal patients. Essential Family Chiropractic opened in 2009 to support the health of the Hamilton community.
